Baby Namings

Baby naming bris brit milah inclusive Judaism Your Way

Our baby naming was truly wonderful. It was so beautiful and inclusive. A very spiritual experience for our family.”

There is probably no greater joy than the birth of a child – a joy that unites the physical, the emotional, and the spiritual; a joy that holds awe, love, tenderness and responsibility.

A Jewish baby naming ceremony is actually three ceremonies in one:

  1. Welcoming the baby to his/her new embodied life, including family, community and humanity.
  2. Bringing the baby into what Jews call the brit (covenant), being connected to the Jewish people and belonging to something sacred and greater than oneself.
  3. Giving the child a Jewish covenantal name.

Rabbi Brian Field and Dr. Caryn Aviv are delighted to work with you to craft a ceremony that reflects your own values and goals as a parent, help you select a Jewish name for your child, and officiate the ceremony. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us or call 303-320-6185. If you are ready to register for your naming ceremony, please click here to fill out the registration form.
